Dr. Atkinson works at our Mumford Clinic.
Dr. Atkinson was born in Merritt, British Columbia, grew up in Saskatchewan and Alberta and went to high school in Sussex, New Brunswick where her parents still live. She graduated from Dalhousie University in 1986 with BSc Psych, MD in 1990 and completed her Family Medicine training at Dalhousie University in 1992. She started practicing Family Medicine in 1992 in Halifax. Her medical interests include Obstetrics, Women’s Health, Sexual Health, LGBTIQ Health. She has a teaching appointment from Dalhousie University as Assistant professor and has been teaching students and residents since 1993.
Dr. Atkinson enjoys hiking, camping and kayaking. She also sings in a small A Capella choir. She has an interest in dog training and enjoys hanging out with her dog Fonzie.
