Dr. McNeil works at our Spryfield Clinic.
I grew up on lovely Cape Breton Island and I have three beautiful adult children who have made their careers in the health professions.
My undergraduate degree was completed at St FXU in 1983. I graduated from Dalhousie Medical School in 1987 and Dalhousie Family Medicine in 1989. I practiced family medicine in Dartmouth and Halifax as part of a private practice for the 1st 15 years of my career. Periodically I welcomed medical students and residents into my practice.
I have been part of Dalhousie Family Medicine since 2004. My special interest is in adults with developmental disabilities. I have the privilege of being part of an adult developmental clinic that operates out of the Dalhousie Family Medicine Clinic in Spryfield since 2010. My other interests include school clinics and the determinants of health. I am part of a school clinic that operates out of a local P-9 school in Spryfield.
The lectures and workshops I facilitate or share responsibility for during the year are centered on communication, developmental disabilities, 18-month check up, the physician and the pharmaceutical representative relationship.
I enjoy and celebrate life long learning and believe everyone has a right and should be offered the opportunity to learn throughout their lifetime.
